A brilliant twisting and turning film noir that uses time brilliantly to keep the audience gripped from start to finish. Tourneur is a genius when it comes to staging and creating suspense and mystery, and he uses all of his skill here.
Mitchum and Douglas are brilliant, sparking in their scenes together.
