Review of Out of the Past (1947) by Vijay L — 08 Feb 2010
I saw this under the UK title "build my gallows high" "out of the past" is a better title. Quintessential film noir, femme fetale, wreathed in cigarette smoke (at one point Mitchum refuses a smoke, but only because he already has one in his hand).
Some of the cinematography is straight out of monochrome graphic novel. Perfect!
