Review of Out of the Past (1947) by Marita L — 26 Apr 2010
This is another film noir, and one I have been wanting to see it for quite some time. I had heard a lot of praise of it in advance, and I was not dissappointed. This movie has it all. The plot is interesting, the script is tight, the actors are superb and the photography is wonderful. It is a must see for all noir fans.
I`m not going to reveal too much of the plot, but the main character is Jeff Bailey (Robert Mitchum), who is basically a good guy caught up in the nest of the femme fatale (Jane Greer) and her baddie aquaintance (Kirk Douglas). Bailey wants to live a normal life with his new girlfriend, but his past catches up with him.
So what are you waiting for, go see it! Don`t think you`ll regret it.
