Review of Out of the Past (1947) by Ashley S — 16 Jun 2010
This is a little gem. Mitchum,Greer and Douglas are all effortlessly cool. There's some handsome location filming, the dialogue cracks.
With ripostes and the unfolding story intrigues and delights.
Unfortunately the plot is possibly too convoluted for its own.
Good and the final reel is overly talky, slowing the pace.
That's not to say a film with a bad bad girl doesn't end right.
It's a unknown noir well worth discovering.
