Probably the quintessential noir film, with its trademark use of flashbacks, shadows, the femme fatale, the cynical & gullible hero and a whiplash script, this is a must-see classic. Great performances all round and some solid standout exchanges of dialogue, fighting & gun-battling, round off this magnificent screen masterpiece.
