Review of Out of the Past (1947) by Gareth B — 11 Jan 2007
This film was technically my introduction to the more classical film noir. By today's standards, it may seem a little bit hackneyed and corny (some of the gimmicks also don't make much sense) but, cliche's aside, it is one of the most solid examples of the genre around and Robert Michum bitingly spiteful dry humor adds a much needed charm to an otherwise perpetually gloomy film.
In short, greatness.
