Review of Out of the Furnace (2013) by Adam S — 15 Mar 2014
Bale is as good as ever. Harrelson and Affleck bring their A games, while Saldana and Whitaker round out a nice supporting cast. A gritty and bleak film that can be at times a bit too slow-paced and quiet to capitaize on the available talent.
The plot progression was often wandering and the climaxes brief and rushed. Still a rather beautifully shot film.
