Review of Out of the Furnace (2013) by Ryan V — 28 Aug 2014

This film puts a mood on as heavy as prisoners yet as American as apple pie. It's simultaneously dark with instances of hope and gleam, and has a stacked cast that takes an OK script and does quite a lot with it.

Although the writing isn't perfect, I really must say the casting was flawless. The cast truly lives their roles and every one of them goes beyond convincing. It seems there may have been a message that got somewhat lost in the film, but all things considered it's still a very good movie.
