Review of Out of Sight (1998) by Scott K — 12 Dec 2007
Thoroughly entertaining even though the script is kind of a mess. Soderbergh's experimentation with the visuals and the acting is interesting and fun to watch. Scott Frank can write good dialogue but his misguided attempts to be unconventional (for the sake of, it would seem) make it less engaging.
Or maybe that was the fault of the source novel. Who knows? I didn't care enough by the end. But there's at least some guaranteed fun to be had here.
