Review of Out of Sight (1998) by Dave H — 19 Dec 2008
Probably my favourite George Clooney/Steven Soderbergh/David Holmes collaboration - and there's been a few. The Cloon and J Lo have sensational chemistry - and check out those eyebrows - all FOUR of 'em.
This was, granted, a decade ago, back before J Lo decided to ditch her acting talent for booty shaking, and back when Georgie-Boy was cool and apolitical - as opposed to cool and political now. Besides the chemistry explosion and the funky (yet unpretentious) direction, Out of Sight has out of sight dialogue - courtesy of Mr Elmore Leonard, and an out of sight supporting cast.
Nice, mellow, cool movie - just imagine something from Tarantino's cooler, less manic older brother.
