Review of Out of Sight (1998) by Nicholas D — 23 Feb 2010
Out of Sight is one of the most entertaining heist movies of recent years.
Directed by visionary director Steven Soderbergh, stars George Clooney, as a career bank robber with more charm than sense, and Jennifer Lopez, as a by-the-book federal marshal with the unpredictable heart of a romantic, give "opposites attract" new meaning in Steven Soderbergh's funny, smart adaptation of Elmore Leonard's novel.
There are great performances all around from Ving Rhames as George Clooneys partner in crime, Don Cheadle as a ruthless gangster, Steve Zhan as the bumbling bad luck middle man and Albert Brooks as the multi-millionaire who is the target of a diamond heist.
The cast could not have been more perfect and the screenplay is a gem. This movie definetly has everything for everyone. Love, comedy, action and suspence.
One of Steven Soderbergh's best and is an instant classic.
4 out of 5.
