Review of Out of Africa (1985) by Wei Kang W — 05 Jun 2008
Sumptuous film about love, heartbreak and loss set in Africa. See it first for the stunning cinematography...absolutely makes you want to go to Africa. But there's also a great story here and a wonderful soundtrack.
I know this is supposed to be a chick-flick, but I tear up every time I watch it. Favorite scenes: 1) when Redford takes Streep up in the airplane and 2) when Redford is washing Streep's hair and reciting 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'.
