Review of Out of Africa (1985) by Benjamin W — 31 Aug 2010
It seems to me that the Academy goes through periodic phases. Occasionally they'll award Best Picture to a Musical. Occasionally they'll award Best Picture to a war film. And occasionally (as in this case) they'll award Best Picture to the Romantic epic.
I'm not saying this film was boring, I'm merely saying that it's not really the type of movie that I usually enjoy.
