Review of Out of Africa (1985) by Sam A — 08 Mar 2014
A brilliant and beautiful film. People who complain that it is "too slow" are inept and small minded. The movie takes you on a journey to a time where stories relied on the gifts of the storyteller and the power of the spoken word.
Each scene is lush and stunning, and the story they tell is moving and heart-wrenching, even more so because it is true. One of my very favorite movies of all time.
