Review of Out Cold (2001) by Drake L — 24 Nov 2018
By far, one of my favorite snowboarding movies of all time. When I first watch the movie back in the early 2000s, I was amazed at how simple the comedy was, a kind of hybrid of stoner, slapstick with very little of the bad pineapple express tropes.
What was surprising to me even today is the all the homages it makes to a very famous movie from the golden years Casablanca. From rick's "in all the bars in all of Alaska" quote; to the ending, it shows great respect to Casablanca.
The love I have for this movie continues today as I watch in every winter which inspires met to get on the slopes with my buddies, drink a beer and play "king of the hill." Fun movie despite what the critics say.
GO WATCH IT!
