Review of Our Man in Havana (1960) by Byron B — 05 Jul 2008
If you just read the description for this movie, you might get the impression that it's a spy thriller. And while it is, it's also a comedy. A very good one at that. It's a "clever comedy". A cool thing about this film is that it was filmed on location in Cuba literally right before Cuba aligned itself with the Soviet Union. For that reason alone, I wish this movie was in color. I think it would've been a nice "extra" to see Havana at that time in full color. But the black and white does not detract from the movie at all.
Anyways, I went into this movie thinking it was just a spy thriller, however, it turned out that the movie is quite funny too. I recommend it to anyone with a smart sense of humor.
