With a solid cast that includes Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Dechanel, Rashida Jones, and Paul Rudd, Out Idiot Brother would seem to have the makings of a breakout comedy hit. But, it falls flat and fails to deliver on its potential.
The story misfires; Ned's innocent spirit is supposed to help his sisters become better people, but they don't. The sisters remain the same unlikable, selfish people that they start out as. And while each actor has their fair share of fun, comedic moments, they don't have a good chemistry together.
Our Idiot Brother is an underwhelming comedy that stagnates.
