A surprisingly sweet and good-natured movie that unfolds slowly and episodically, eventually enveloping its audience in the warmth and bonhomie its title character provides. I think it would have worked better as a novel, but won't deny its charms as a film.
Oh, and Kathryn Hahn, is hysterical as Rudd's not-so-pacifist ex.
