Review of Our Idiot Brother (2011) by Christopher C — 30 Mar 2012

A surprisingly sweet and at times, hilarious, movie. All roles are played well, but it's still Paul Rudd who brings it home as the lovable Ned, though I must say there are some stand out characters like Rashida Jones' character who is adorable and has a short lived bond with Ned. But as I said the whole cast is great, the movie is hilarious, and it's overall satisfying. I have to say, as a few negatives, I mentioned Rashida Jones' character who he bonds with, as well as Elizabeth Banks' friend, but those small cute relationships are pretty scarce throughout the movie. I would have LOVED to see them build upon it more, especially since it's only 90 minutes. All the "sad" scene in the movie is kind of painful to watch, since you love the character so much and his sisters are plain bitches, but there's your emotional bit for you. It's a great time, pretty awkward at parts, and not totally vulgar! Love it.

PROS: Paul Rudd, hilariously feel good, great flow, whole cast plays their parts well.

CONS: Wholly predictable as you watch it, unused potential with minor characters.
