Review of Our Idiot Brother (2011) by Bob S — 18 Sep 2012
Given the title's name, I was expecting to be laughing a lot during this movie. However, there never really was any laugh-out-loud moments at all during it. There were not a whole lot of laughs and when they were, they were slight giggles.
However, even with limited laughs, this was still an entertaining movie. Paul Rudd plays Ned, a guy who always tries to see the best in people and give them the benefit of the doubt failing to see the consequences this can bring.
While you may say he's an idiot for some of the things he does, you can also understand his intentions and this is what makes him so likeable. He never asks for trouble and always tries to be honest, even if certain information he is talking about is not exactly stuff people want to hear.
I think that anyone can relate to Ned's character to one degree or another and if you do not feel for him at all in this movie, you're probably a life perfectionist.
