Review of Our Idiot Brother (2011) by K P — 12 Jan 2012
Wonderful, wonderful movie! Fantastic cast, hilarious, and touching. One of the funniest actors is T.J. Miller who plays Billy, a supporting character. Watch him closely when he comes onscreen, his mannerisms, or rather body language, dialogue, and delivery, timing are just priceless. I laughed SO hard!
There are only one or two very minor moments in the film where one of the characters, including Paul Rudd, goes out of character in a contrived way, so as to cause a conflict to occur. I do wish that so many movies would work on that aspect in general, smoothing out the rough spots, where they force an actor to leave their movie personality and act in a way that is unbelievable, ie, that goes against the grain of their basic character because the director or whoever is responsible can't think of a better way to create a conflict. Nonetheless, I saw this movie twice, because the good SO outweighs any bad. And personally, I can relate to it, as well. Definitely worth your time!
