Review of Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016) by Calvin C — 07 Nov 2016
This should have been the first and only movie about the Hasbro board game. After the not scary and stupid first movie, this prequel stays true to its eerie backdrop. The 1960s setting and the slow pace work for the intimate story it is trying to tell. The scares are limited, but effective. The cast is good, especially Lulu Wilson, the little girl whose body gets possessed. It terms of the horror genre, it's just an okay movie. In terms of the Ouija movie franchise, this is a masterpiece.
Grade: B.
