Review of Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016) by Josef M — 08 Nov 2016
Ouija: Origin Of Evil is a creepy, eerie horror sequel that is truly terrifying. The acting is very good. Lulu Wilson did an amazing job playing Doris and this could be a start for a great career. Annalise Basso from Oculus, which is another movie directed by Mike Flanagan, did a fantastic job. Elizabeth Reaser did very decent. And Henry Thomas had a role in this which is fantastic. I have a couple problems with the movie. The "scary stuff" didn't start happening until half way in the movie, and when it was scary it was only for a couple of minutes and then it would go back to normal. But other than that it was very decent.
Movie Review.
**WARNING SPOILERS**.
Paulina, Doris's sister, sneaks out to party with her friends in Los Angela's in the 50s. Her friends mother has a Ouija board in the house and they decide to use it. Paulina's mom is a Scam artist so when her mom has to come and pick her up, she has an idea. She thinks that to spice up her medium act, they can use a Ouija board. Doris uses it by herself in the middle of the night, in a graveyard, which you'll find out about later, and doesn't say goodbye. This results in Doris getting possessed. She is found by Paulina writing a letter in polish. She brings it to her school princable and he decides to have a meeting at the Zander house. He says that Doris is channeling powers of demon, Marcus. The letter explained everything. An evil doctor, right after World War I, did torture experiments on innocent people. He buried the bodies in the walls of the house that the Zander's live in. They played in a graveyard. The next day Paulina finds a doll with its mouth sewn shut when she remembered. A couple of nights ago, she whispered in my ear. The doll is a sign. In order for Doris to be defeated she had to sew her mouth shut. That will stop the voices that make people channel powers... Uh oh. Paulina channels powers. Father Tom comes back the next day and tries to find Doris. She's in a secret room in the basement. When he crawls through, she uses the voices and possesses father tom. He then attacks Lina and the mother. When they wake up, the mother is stapled to a metal counter and next to her is a knife and string. Doris is going to see her mouth shut. She manages out before Doris comes back. When she does, she's angry. She super blasts Lina across the room. Lina fights through and gets to the other side of the room. She picks up the knife and the string and starts sewing Doris's mouth shut. But she remembered, the voices came to her. Her eyes turned white and she stabbed her mom. They turned to normal color and she starts crying. The screen goes black and when it comes back up, Lina is in a mental hospital. People think that she killed Doris and the mother. No body believes that she was possessed. In her hospital room, she thought about Doris. She wanted her back. She ripped up the carpet and bit her thumb. In her blood, she made a Ouija board and contacted Doris. It ends with Doris chasing the doctor down the hallway.
