Review of Ouija (2014) by Scott T — 13 Nov 2014
2014 has been a rather weak year in the theaters for horror. Perhaps the strongest one this year has been Paranormal Activity Marked Ones. This Halloween was a tough one for me not getting a straight Paranormal Activity sequel and almost celebrating with the abominable Annabelle.
In going another round with my girlfriend at the theater for a horror after being tortured by Devils Due earlier this year Ouija was quite a delight. Scary as well which I got bruises on my arm to prove from how many times my girl kept grabbing my arm.
As well as being scary it was nice to finally get some descent acting such as from Olivia Cooke who has made it big on the show Bates Motel. Also a nice cameo from Lin Shaye whose character luckily doesn't rip off Insidious which had me worried especially placing her in a horror in between Insidious sequels.
So all in all this movie made my Halloween weekend with something new outside the realm of Paranormal Activity and Saw.
