Review of Otis (2008) by Zsófia A — 04 Aug 2008
I know it's a comedy horror but still it was a strange movie for me...
At first it started ok, the situation was clear with the pervert Otis, and Riley was great how she could handle him and escape finally. you hate Otis for what he did with all the young girls but he's so pathetic that he's actually funny sometimes.
I liked it very much how they drew a parallel between the Lord of the Flies and the berserk family.
But Agent Hotchkiss is so annoying, chewing gum disgustingly all the time, bullying everybody, not doing his job and telling everyone how great he is. this made me feel like nobody's normal in this movie. but it was not so over the top as, say, From Dusk till Dawn, I just I didn't know what to think about it.
So there were a few good ideas but in the end it rather felt like a sick movie than a horror comedy.
