Review of Osmosis Jones (2001) by Peter M — 28 Apr 2011
Here we have an interesting failure of a movie.
Why did this $75 million budget flic only gain $14 million in revenue?
Well here is a couple of reasons.
Animated movies comes generellay in three kinds, just for kids, for both kids and grown-ips, or just for adults. Osmosis Jones fails to any of these categories. It's to scary and disgusting for the kids, it doesn't have enough references for adults watching along, it just misses all targets.
It have a ridiculous name that's impossible to remember even for minutes.
A bit sad because the movie features both William Shatner and David Hyde Pierce which work splendid in animated movies.
Bill Murray who plays out in the "real" scenes is more beaten down and sluggish than even Charles Bukowski in a bad very drunken day. It is a mystery how they would have him in this condition in this kind of movie.
Still the idea of a country within a man is always fascinating to some point.
