Review of Oslo, August 31st (2011) by Kenny S — 20 May 2012
Tough going (especially as it hit fairly close to home for me personally) but expertly crafted; Oslo, August 31st is a tense, restrained and horribly moving film. Anders Danielsen Lie turns in a stunningly realistic performance as the central character, Anders, there are some very neat little story telling touches and its beautifully shot.
Perhaps a little too ponderous overall though.
