Review of Osama (2004) by Souab K — 25 Mar 2008
The beautiful cinematography, remarkable performances and powerful subject matter hide the fact hat this is a pretty stodgy story which offers little insight to the characters, Afghanistan or the Taliban.
Clearly a story written based on heard storys I didn't feel enriched, informed or entertained at any level. Not really sure who it is aimed towards. Kandahar covers similar ground but is better written and more biting direction.
Osama was just a little insipid, uninspiring and the unremitting grimness left me disinterested.
