Very emotional film. Just try not to be effected during a scene between Timothy Hutton and Judd Hirsch when he really starts to have a break-through. Mary Tyler Moore is excellent as an icy mother. Hutton won an Oscar and there many other nominations, including Moore and Hirsch.
That powerful scene also has some bad language that gives the film the R rating.
