Review of Ordinary People (1980) by James M — 28 Nov 2013
Ordinary People = rather ordinary movie.
It's a drama about a family trying to cope following the death of one of the sons. The acting is very good, especially Timothy Hutton who won a Supporting Actor Oscar, but I felt the movie would have been more powerful if the family weren't of an affluent background.
Personally, I can't believe this won the Best Film Oscar over Raging Bull!
