Review of Ordet (1955) by Spencer H — 08 Aug 2007
I was shocked by the power of this movie. I've never seen performances so authentic, committed, and raw. The subject matter is perhaps more daring today than when the play was written. At the time they argued about sects of Christianity; now they argue whether there is anything important at all to faith, religion, and spirituality.
The climactic scene is unforgettable. A beautiful film.
