Review of Orchestra Rehearsal (1979) by Brandon A — 20 Jan 2009
A philosophical/political allegory clearly reminiscent of Godard's Tout Va Bien for its cinematic analogues and extended metaphors. evocative, poetic at its core, the unwavering discourse of this visual novella reveals percipient critical commentaries on the postmodern marketplace of ideas and artistic style.
Fellini's characteristic, incisive portraiture unearths the hidden ideologue and the corresponding latent, radical 'psychologie de la transformation' of the common individual: the populist artist.
this is at once a satire of the interpersonal sophistication and aesthetic and cultural Taste (read: 'rajas') of the politically challenged, impromptu sample that is "the people." an excellent, entertaining study.
