Review of Orca (1977) by Caleb M — 20 Aug 2010
A deadly serious but utterly campy Jaws rip-off. Richard Harris accidentally kills an Orca whale's wife and unborn child and becomes obsessed with the creature who stalks him and eventually leads him to the arctic.
Most of the film is brooding faux-tension, but there are some very entertaining moments, such as when the whale blows up an oil well. There are one or two creepy moments as well, but then again I'm a sucker for scary underwater creature movies.
