Review of Oranges and Sunshine (2010) by Maryelle D — 26 Oct 2011
The story is moving and more than worth-telling-- about how some 120-130,000 kids from the UK were sent to work in Australia ,even when they were not orphans, and left deprived of love when not blatantly abused.
The way it is filmed is less great, being extremely conventional.
Emily Watson does a great job as Margaret Humphreys, the social worker who uncovered it all.
