Review of Oppenheimer (2023) by Finnluka — 06 Aug 2023
I watched it today in an IMAX cinema. It was a very nice film with extremely good video and audio quality. I liked how the story was told, but sometimes it gets a little confusing because there are many different people participating in the story.
I really appreciate that it's a film where you take away something informative rather than just being for entertainment. My favorite scene was the ending, where Oppenheimer talked with Einstein. They weren't sure if the detonation of the atomic bomb would trigger a chain reaction, causing the entire atmosphere to burn and end all life on earth. According to their calculations, the probability of this event was almost zero, and their calculations turned out to be correct; it didn't happen. However, after the detonations in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Oppenheimer told Einstein that he thinks their calculations were wrong, and the development team had indeed created a chain reaction. This basically means that now everyone is trying to build a bigger bomb since the concept has proven its potential, which is a significant threat to human life.
