Review of Oppenheimer (2023) by Beardedyoda — 21 Jul 2023
I'm just going to be blunt with this review. Oppenheimer is very, very good and is worth your time. The film is a touching, down to earth, and at times horrifying delve into the human psyche and our species unending pursuit of knowledge.
I will say that, despite a three hour runtime, the pacing of the movie is constantly moving with little breathing room. I understand why the movie has such fast pacing, but it could be a bit overwhelming for some - especially when combined with the films unending and bombastic soundtrack.
Really, other than the aforementioned pacing, and a singular scene at the beginning of the film that - without spoiling anything - I believe was a bit on the nose, Oppenheimer is an excellent film. If people come out of the theater thinking that this is Christopher Nolan's cinematic masterpiece, I wouldn't be surprised.
I don't want to say much else because you should absolutely experience the movie yourself. Watch Oppenheimer.
