Review of Operation Petticoat (1959) by Jenna I — 21 Feb 2016
This is the type of movie that's held up strictly on the merits of Cary Grant and Tony Curtis. Without them, there's really not much here. I can't say I laughed at anything in this film, I don't think it's aged well- especially if you're under 65 and not a white male.
That said, it could have been a lot worse, it manages to keep fairly conservative over all. The shots of the submarines are neat and I like that it was based on a handful of true stories.
