Review of Opera (1987) by Jesse W — 30 Nov 2008
This Dario Argento film had the potential to be a great horror film, but there are quite a bit of things that ruin it. Though there were quite a few memorable deaths (especially the one at the door), the heavy metal music was a huge flaw and ruined a lot of the horror.
The dubbing was also pretty bad. And I also didn't like the ending. But as I said, there were some great deaths, it was a clever set up, especially the pins to the eyes, and the "bird cam" was pretty awesome.
I had high hopes for this one, but it just failed on a few levels. Though I did love that Ian Charleson was in this.
