Review of Opera (1987) by Jacob F — 14 Mar 2009
I realize now why Argento is considered such a legendary filmmaker. The cinematography was breath taking and so was the acting from Marsillach. However, they really should have told more about the relationship of the killer with Betty's mother.
That would have been explained things a lot better than the quick flashbacks they used. And the rock music during the murder scenes was pitiful. In a movie called "opera" why use rock music of all things? Bad rock at that.
Overall, it's a good film though. But put the mute button on during the murder scenes, lol.
