Review of Opening Night (1933) by Jared J — 21 Jun 2007
Slow and moody, Cassavetes lets the actors carry the film. An honest, if confusing, examination of life, performance, aging, and the "roles" of womanhood. The original cut ran 5 hours, so perhaps one can't complain too much if the film still feels a little too long.
