This was a fabulous retelling of "All About Eve" ala Cassavetes with a touch of madness. Rowlands is so amazingly talented and her drunken scenes are pure genious. I was also delighted with Joan Blondell's character (and her hat!!!) - usually a bit more of a comedic character, her portrayal of the playwrite, the next "generation", Rowland's mirror, per se, is both brutal and compassionate.

Zorha Lampert (the scene in front of the theater and publicity poster) pulls off an amazing job being a part of the background while holding strong to her role in the the fabric of the theater "family".

I highly recommend.
