Review of Open Water (2004) by Phil C — 03 Aug 2010
I'd heard nothing but good things about 'Open Water', and have to say I was a little disappointed. The acting (as to be expected from a low budget movie), and the dialogue are both terrible, and I didn't really feel much of the supposed suspense as they bobbed around in the water for an hour and a half. Yes, the situation itself is a scary one, but I think the movie's synopsis scared me more than the movie itself (possibly because then, I didn't have to put up with the extremely wooden acting).
'Open Water' is an excellent example of what can be done on such a small budget. Nothing more.
