The film does what it sets out to, although it is/was never going to win any awards for the production.
It set out to be a Jaws meets Blair Witch film and it did achieve it in ways. There just isn't enough story to make the film anything special, the whole film is based around isolation in the middle of nowhere (in the sea), this is it's only real selling point.
