Review of Open Water (2004) by Philip S — 02 Nov 2008
Open Water another movie that was based on true events, well as the filmmakers say. But I guess you have to take their word for it. The premise of the movie is a young couple go vacation, and they think it would be a great idea to go scuba diving out there.
Well not alone tagging along is a group of families and younger couples. Don't forget the Diving instructers as well. So you would think they the experts know what they are doing and they will be safe.
Wrong the movie starts picking up terror, when the lead characters [the couple] is left behind out in the middle of the ocean. It's not just the two of them, there company is a school of hungry man eating sharks ready to dine.
You know that's a really scary thought being left behind with killer sharks. Because help could be so far away, it just goes back to the original shark film Jaws. But I can't compare this film too Jaws, because jaws is the better film.
But it still holds up by scaring you too death.
