Review of Open Water (2004) by Kim B — 16 Dec 2010
I found it very thrilling and scary. I jumped multiple times and was gripping the chair in suspense, the scenario kept progressively getting worse and worse. I really liked the camera shots and the scenery was well set up.
The atmosphere was definitely there, but not a lot of substance. It was like that horror movie with Liv Taylor where the main characters just get tortured for two hours, except at least it was in a more creative setting.
What was the main point? I felt like there could have been more for all the other great aspects and the ending was kind of blah. However, I don't want to go diving after seeing this movie with those foreign imbeciles.
I would compare it to Jaws as the scariest shark movie. I didn't realize it was low budget and they did well with that, it was done kind of documentary style.
