Review of Open Water (2004) by Topher S — 29 Dec 2009

How in the world did this movie get a fresh rating? I could appreciate it being more or less original as far as execution goes, but watching a couple bob in the water for an hour or so is not fun. There were some intense moments, but overall I didn't find the sharks to be scary; what scared me more was the vast ocean.

The thought of just being stranded was scary. But even that lost its appeal after a while. It could get really boring. I'm sure there are those who would really enjoy this for trying something different, but the majority of viewers are destined to drift .
