Review of Open Season (2006) by Don S — 15 Jul 2011
I must be getting old, or all of these animated movies with animals are so similar that I can't keep up with them anymore. I laughed out loud a couple of times, so it is not all bad. However, I've never been a Martin Lawrence fan, and having him be the main character really put me off from the start. Kutcher did a good job as the deer (I could see Kelso from That 70's Show in my head), and Billy Connolly was hysterical as the head squirrel. My kids liked it, but neither wanted to watch it a second time before returning it. Kiss of death for an animated movie in my house. Couldn't have been that entertaining for them either. Worth watching for the few laughs you'll get. Don't plan on busting a gut though...
