Bad bad bad movie, not that I was expecting it to be good. At least it's a straight-to-dvd movie, because let's be honest if this movie would have been released theatrically...it would have done horrible business since it was a sequel that nobody really wanted to see.

But since it's a straight-to-dvd film I'm sure people will be more willing to rent it for 4 or 5 dollars than they would pay 10+ dollars to see it in the theaters. So I really have no problem with it being a straight-to-dvd movie.

The voice acting isn't very good (Mike Epps imitating Martin Lawrence = Epic Fail)...nor is the animation but I think it somehow manages to look better on the eyes than the original Madagascar did.

..and I'm sure madagascar had a muuuch better budget than Open Season 2...so that goes to show you how bad the animation is in madagascar. Anyways I can literally count all the times I laughed on one hand, and all those laughs were because of Roger (the cross eyed cat whose tongue is sticking out), his voice was pretty damn funny.

..he definitely should have been around more because perhaps the quality of the movie might have improved (I doubt it, but you never know). As I said it's a bad movie, it's nowhere near as "good" as the first Open Season (and that movie was ok at best).

Fortunately I didn't have to pay to watch this movie so I'm not as harsh as I normally would be (plus I'm avoiding making comparisons to Pixar cause it's just not that fair to this movie).

Skip it, go read a book or something instead.
