Review of Open Range (2003) by Dan L — 17 Nov 2008
This is one of my favorite westerns, easily displacing a half dozen others that I have foolishly thought were good for decades. Good cinematography, great vistas, excellent acting, story, plot, action, characters.
An excellent attempt at realism in a genre where romanticism is the fundamental production value. And, I've heard the shoot-out is the longest (15+minutes) is the longest in movie history.
