Review of Open City (2008) by James R — 16 Sep 2011
I actually have seen bits and pieces of this movie for quite some time now. I'm pretty sure I was even suppose to see it back in Community College, but probably slept through it. Nevertheless im glad to have finally watched this movie fully. I will admit as well that the first half never really did anything for me, but the second half from the imprisonment scene on was very powerful.
Aldo Fabrizi who plays the priest in this film was who caught my attention. He's an everyday man whos just trying to do good. The final scene with him was extremely powerful and I enjoyed every second of it. The movie shows what the Italian peoples stengths were during the Nazi occupation and the spirit in which they always leaned upon when needed.
Definitely give this one a look if your a film buff!
